So many superlatives have been used in describing Rosella’s Vineyard and owner Gary Franscioni’s farming that there really isn’t much left to say.  Gary is certainly one of the most meticulous and fastidious growers we’ve come across.  But in 2007, he truly outdid himself, providing us with some of the most incredible Syrah we’ve had the pleasure of fermenting.  Fifty percent whole cluster.  Twenty-five percent new French oak.  Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Santa Lucia Highlands "Rosella's Vineyard" Syrah

Tasting Note:

Opaque black ruby-purple to the rim.  OMG!  Drop-dead gorgeous aromas of blackberry and ruby-red grapefruit are punctuated by notes of dry-cured black olives and white pepper.  The nose alone is a total turn-on!  The wine enters full and rich, displaying great purity and freshness, finishing with an intriguing saline-like quality.  Quite honestly, this is simply one of the most delicious young wines I’ve had the pleasure to drink.  Stunning!  Enjoy late 2009 through 2015.
