The tiny plot of “Pet” (all five rows!) at Ray Teldeschi’s Del Carlo Ranch at the north end of Dry Creek Valley produced fruit so wonderful in 2008 that we couldn’t bring ourselves to blend it away. Picked September 26th, the grapes were completely destemmed but only partially crushed. After 18 days on the skins it was pressed into two neutral French oak barrels. After 17 months aging, it was bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Dry Creek Valley Petite Sirah

Tasting Note:

Black ruby-purple. Captivating, perfumed aromas of blackberry, peat, and licorice allsorts. On the palate, incredibly smooth and harmonious, with flavors of blueberry, blackberry, and loamy earth. Amazingly approachable, especially for a Petite Sirah. Drink from release (if you like ‘em young) through 2020. (MRO – 08/01/10)
