Once again, after using some of our Dry Creek Petite Sirah for blending into our Zinfandels, we found we had a small amount to bottle on its own. But given demand for our Petites, I'm not sure if this was a blessing or a curse! A blend of Del Carlo Ranch and Oddone Vineyard, this wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered. No new oak.

Dry Creek Valley Petite Sirah

Tasting Note:

Impenetrably black.  Take opaque and multiply it by 10.  Very expressive, high-toned aromas of blueberries, iron-laden earth, and white pepper.  Serious stuff!  On the palate, full-bodied and concentrated.  Essence of Petite Sirah.  Deceptively smooth on the finish.  When to enjoy this beauty?  I’m conflicted.  It’s so enjoyable now yet I see so much potential with age.  Hmmm… Let’s call it 2015 to 2030 but be sure to check our drinkability chart for updates.
