Picked nearly three weeks later than in 2004, this is perhaps our finest Dry Creek Syrah to date, combining plenty of ripeness but with an extra measure of elegance. Twenty percent whole clusters were used to add additional structure and complexity. Aged in French oak, 45% new, and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Tasting Note:
Dark ruby-purple. Nearly opaque. Complex, intense aromas of blackberry, ripe black olive, and smoked meats. On the palate, full-bodied but not at all over the top with beautiful structure and delineation. Without question, our finest Dry Creek Syrah to date, even perhaps one of our finest Syrahs ever! Drink from 2008 through 2013. (MRO – 3/1/07)
