2022 Vintage

A highly variable growing season. More winter rain than the previous two years but still well below average. Bud break was relatively early and some vineyards were hit by frost in mid April which impacted weather. Up and down weather continued in May and June with hail, frost, rain, and days over 100 F. July and August were relatively benign but a record breaking heat wave in early September led to a very intense, compressed harvest. Overall, yields were below average. Wines are quite fresh and juicy with with soaring aromatics and acidity levels comparable to 2021. Carlisle has once again beaten the vintage!
