2021 Vintage

Another Goldilocks vintage. Warm but not hot. Cool but not cold. Not an early vintage nor a late vintage. Fruit was able to ripen at a leisurely pace, developing some of the darkest color on red varieties we’ve seen. Wines are extracted and concentrated yet also quite fresh, elegant, and lower in alcohol than usual, especially on Rhône varieties. The only downside to the vintage was that some vineyards experienced much lower-than-normal yields due to drought. Overall, similar to 2018 quality-wise but with more precision to the wines. Our favorite vintage to date.
