Planted in 1909, Bacchi Ranch is located in the northern, warmer reaches of the Russian River Valley, near the borders of Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys. Yields were an impressive two tons to the acre. Picked on October 3rd, the must was cold soaked for five days before the start of an indigenous fermentation. After 18 days on the skins, the wine was pressed to all French oak, 20% new. Bottled unfined and unfiltered
Tasting Note:
Medium-dark ruby in color. Mouth watering aromas of boysenberry, black cherry, and licorice. The wine enters full and rich, with flavors echoing aromas. A long, lasting finish. Enjoyable on release but best from late 2007 through 2010. (MRO – 3/1/07)
