From a collection of mostly cool climate vineyards, the bulk of the fruit for this wine was picked in the first week of November. Yields ranged from 1.0 to 3.0 tons to the acre. Aged in all French oak, 36% new, and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Tasting Note:
Very dark black-ruby. Nearly opaque. Wickedly dark, luscious aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and a dash of vanilla. Mmmmm! Impressively concentrated yet quite suave in texture with fine grained tannins on the finish. Much more showy than the 2004 at this stage yet lower alcohol as well. Drink 2008 through 2014.
